At Crossing Borders we view our life's work as a fostering of individual growth and understanding for others in business, academic and daily life. Our talented staff brings to the table decades of their own diverse experiences ranging from classroom instruction to the creative arts to corporate management and entrepreneurship. Their enthusiasm is contagious! Elvia Taylor, our Executive Director, created Crossing Borders in 2002. Elvia wanted the different people of Houston to learn more than just a new language. She wanted them to have a chance to explore diverse cultures too. She began teaching her students a second language through a holistic approach using books, but also incorporating art, dance, and traditional cooking lessons from her native Mexico. Elvia definitely went the extra mile to ensure that her students received a well-rounded cultural education. Client List

Today, Crossing Borders offers more than just English and Spanish classes. Our linguistic expertise now extends to French, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic and Dutch. Crossing Borders also offers translations, interpretations, curriculum, and lots more!
Crossing Borders is growing and expanding into other cities and states as more and more people hear about us and our unique take on language learning as well as our take on all our visual arts learning.
