Bi-Lingual Students Have a Competitive Advantage
Bi-lingual children not only have a social advantage compared to mon-lingual children but an academic advantage as well. The Journal of Experimental Child Psychology published a study in November 2010 conducted by French and Canadian scientists in which they found that toddlers who know a second language often OUTPERFORM children who know only one language in tests measuring attention control. Other studies have found that bilingual children also have enhanced cognitive brain functions, problem-solving skills, academic achievement, and creativity compared to their mono-lingual peers.
Studies have shown that the earlier a child is introduced to a language, the more likely he/she will speak like a native.
The dual immersion model develops students who are truly bilingual in two languages, and the multi immersion model on three or more languages. Our toddler and pre-school program focuses on the development of the whole child and are based on the following principles:
